1961 - 1979

How it all began

The company is founded as distribution company Boucke & Co. Ltd in 1961.  The product range comprises forged components for the automotive industry. Jürgen Schlabach enters the company in 1972 and die springs, bushings, guide posts and wear plates are taken up into the programme. In 1979 the company is renamed, “Febrotec Vertriebsgesellschaft Neuzeitlicher Werkzeug- und Maschinenbauelemente mbH”, "Febrotec Sales Company for Modern Tool and Machine Construction Elements". The origin of Febrotec is a blending of the words Federn-Bronze-Technik, "Springs-Bronze-Technology".

 

1992 - 1996

International growth

In 1992 Febrotec enters cooperation with Associated Spring SPEC Ltd., and expands its product range to include compression springs, extension springs, disc springs and washers. Febrotec’s service is characterised by individual technical advice from engineers. In addition to all types of standard springs, Febrotec starts with custom-made products and the use of special materials.

  

1997 - 2006

The First Digitalisation

The first Online Shop is set up successfully in 1997. Customers can search directly for specific springs in various sizes and current stock levels and prices. The electronic product catalogue supports over 25,000 standard spring parts with CAD data. In 2002, Jens Schlabach joins the company as partner and director.

 

2007 - Today

Product range expansion

In 2007 the company is renamed Febrotec Ltd. to express the concentration on the core business, springs of all types. From 2009, Febrotec further expands its product range with gas struts.

The uniquely large product range of currently approximately 40 million immediately available products and the high degree of innovative products characterise the company. Febrotec manages to consistently combine accessible procedures, individual technical know-how, excellent service, and reliability. From 2020, the company expands the logistics centre at the Halver site with a new warehouse. Jesper Dietrich joins Febrotec as a further Managing Director in 2023.

Febrotec’s products are found in a variety of applications and industries, including medicine, automotive, industry and leisure.
